1. Acts as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related rules, regulations, requirements, concepts, principles, and processes.
2. Maintains active awareness of new methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities and makes recommendations for changes in the auditing processes and safety programs as warranted by such developments. Recommends new approaches to problems encountered and proposes changes in methods or procedures where necessary.
3. Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of auditing work and monitoring the quality of service on work performed.
4. Engages in contact with clients in order to resolve problems within area of expertise.
5. Performs routine audits on vessels, other marine facilities and offshore units for compliance with statutory requirements.
6. Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of all inspections and audits performed.
7. Monitors work and projects performed by subordinate auditors to ensure maintenance of quality, content, consistency and continuity of all work performed.
8. Promotes the services and capabilities of ABS to present and potential customers.
9. Maintains audit records in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility.
1. Knowledge of the vessels/units engineering systems, machinery and have a good understanding of operations.
2. A sound foundation of audit training and practical experience with vessels/units in service.
3. Ability to read engineering plans and other technical publications.
4. Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.
5. Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, pertinent information relative to assigned area of technical expertise.
6. Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.

9. Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
