Roles and Responsibilities:
• Develop, prepare, review and analyze commercial lease documents to ensure compliance with company standards. (Finance, Contract, Legal, Commercial, Project Management office and other relevant parties)
• Sales proposals commercial support, prepare early stage project agreements - HOAs, MOUs
• Develop Business model for chartering project
• Research and interpret local, state, and government laws as they pertain to leasing agreements
• Development the terms and agreement of leases and negotiate with clients on behalf of the company
• Prepare and present reports to management detailing findings and recommendations
• Monitor changes in the law and keep management apprised of new developments
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to leasing
• Serve as a resource to other departments within the company on matters related to leasing
• Handle client inquiries related to leasing agreements
• Seek best practices to drive process standardization in maintaining commercial systems; develop risk plans
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Good negotiating ability of chartering contract
• An in-depth understanding of business operations; possess a keen eye for detail
• Possess strong business acumen, up-to-date on market conditions and trends in ship leasing markets
• Provide training to newly recruited team members, as applicable, and ensure and monitor their performance and contribution to the commercial analytics team
• Prioritise and manage multiple projects in full-time, adhering to timelines
Qualifications and Skills:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics; a Master’s in Business Administration or a similar field is a plus
• 6 to 10 years of experience in ship chartering market
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking, analytical skills, and investigative skills
• Ability to conduct extensive commercial analysis
